Excellent piece from elite daily about how Netflix is now taking on the movie theater industry by having movies released on Netflix the same time that they are released in theaters. The upcoming movie “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend” which is being produced by the Weinstein company and is scheduled to be released August 2015.
Between their quality original series like “House Of Cards” and “Orange is the New Black” their still impressive library of content (thought I would like to see things stay in their library longer) and now original films Netflix seems to understand the future of the entertainment industry better than most of its competitors… pretty good for a company that made an incredibly stupid decision a few years ago when it tried to split off its streaming and DVD services into separate companies and lost a ton of subscribers in the process (a decision it quickly reversed).
